Not Enough Anymore

They thought they knew me because I was smiling, Because I was becoming comfortable, a little more confident. They only saw what I chose to show, Not everything I’ve been through, nor everything I still will. They know nothing of the nights spent rebuilding myself, Of the heavy silences behind my bursts of laughter. They thought I was fine because I said nothing, But silence has never meant that everything was okay. I only asked you… just to be there. Not to save me, just not to let me fall.
